A Place We Long For
We all know this place, the one we long for; a neighboring town, a fabricated refuge, a home we wish to return to, or to one day build. Visited ritually in daydreams and distractions, it is a place where the occupant and the occupied are one and the same. A Place We Long For holds a looking glass to this destination and its accompanying condition. Photographs of domestic yearning, paintings of exhaustion, and, sculptures of meditative spaces compose the gallery. Collectively they are an invitation, a request to visit the places we long for, the place you hope to find yourself. Run full speed and escape ‘there;’ Lose consciousness and fall ‘there;’ if instincts strike, create ‘there’ from nothing.
